Objectives:

1. Introduction of self-portraiture as subject matter and photorealism as a style.

2. Introduction to the use of a proportional grid system as a tool for seeing and accurately rendering proportional relationships.

3. Development of the ability to see and accurately draw value patterns to render forms and spatial relationships on a two-dimensional surface.

4. Utilization of hatching to create values.

5. Development of facility with graphite pencils as drawing media.
